Biography

Sotirios Bisdas is a consultant in the Department of Neuroradiology at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, Senior Lecturer at the Institute of Neurology at UCL, and Professor of Radiology at the Eberhard-Karls-University of Tübingen, Germany. He also holds an MSc. degree in “Advanced Oncology” from the University of Ulm, Germany. His fields of expertise include functional CT and MR imaging in various neurological disorders with focus on neuro-oncology.

He has authored more than 115 peer-reviewed publications and 9 book chapters and has been internationally awarded for his research in perfusion and diffusion MR imaging of gliomas. Dr. Bisdas is actively involved in advanced metabolic and functional MRI and hybrid MR-PET neuroimaging, in intraoperative MR imaging and ultra-high-field brain MR spectroscopy. He is member of the editorial board of European Radiology, Neuroradiology, BioMed Research and lead section editor in European Journal of Radiology. He serves as member of the Executive Committee of the European Society of Head and Neck Radiology as well as of the Head and Neck Committee of the European Society of Neuroradiology. He is also member of the Research Committee of the European Society of Radiology.
