Prior to academia, Tom worked for Mauna Kea Technologies. He joined the company as a PhD student and then research engineer before becoming New Technologies Manager, identifying emerging technologies and supporting their acquisition within the company.
He received his PhD, co-supervised by Nicholas Ayache and Xavier Pennec at the Asclepios Project-Team in Inria Sophia Antipolis, in 2008 from Ecole des Mines de Paris. He also obtained an MSc in Electrical Engineering at Columbia University in 2004.
