Biography

Angelos Kalitzeos is a post-doctoral research associate in the Department of Genetics, Institute of Ophthalmology and the National Institute for Health Research Moorfields’ Clinical Research Facility since July 2015.

His specialty is multimodal retinal imaging/testing for functional and structural assessment using both commercially available devices and research-grade imaging setups. He is currently leading the Adaptive Optics program in a series of natural history studies aimed to characterise inherited eye conditions on a cellular level in preparation for gene therapy trials.

Prior to coming to UCL, Angelos obtained his PhD from the Optometry and Vision Sciences Department of Aston University and was awarded an MSc degree in Optics & Vision from the University of Crete.
