Model Informed Interpretation of Multimodal Data Sets from Brain Injured Patients
Acute brain injury (ABI) is a significant cause of morbidity and mortality with huge socio-economic impact globally. Monitored systemic and cerebral physiological variables target early identification of disordered cerebral oxygen delivery and metabolism, informing individualised treatment. Extracting clinically relevant information from these multimodal and complex datasets is extremely challenging (often impossible), and there is a clear unmet need for a device that assists clinicians in their real-time interpretation. Our project will use a mathematical model of cerebral circulation and metabolism.
