Magnetic Resonance Wave Intensity Analysis

Wave intensity analysis is a technique that allows gathering of mechanistic information about the interaction between the heart and the remainder of the vasculature. Although originally performed using invasive data, this method can now be performed non-invasively using cardiovascular magnetic resonance imaging. However, this new technique is still dependent on issues such as the resolution of the imaging sequence and segmentation techniques for the analysis. The aim of this project is to further develop the magnetic resonance wave intensity tool and to apply it to assess cardiac function, arterial distensibility, and ventricular-vascular coupling in different cardiovascular pathologies.
