Industry Seminar - "icoMetrix: Bringing MRI biomarkers to the MS patient"
Speaker: Dr Dirk Smeets, Chief Scientific Officer at icoMetrix
Date: Tuesday 18 November, 6pm
Abstract: This seminar tries to illuminate how icoMetrix has brought image processing from the university to the individual patient. When it started as a spin-off company of the universities of Leuven and Antwerp, it was selling software as a service (SaaS) to (mostly) non-technical researchers. Today, it is still doing this as an activity but its main focus has evolved to a clinical product for the follow-up of multiple sclerosis (MS) patients based on anatomical MR images.
This seminar will discuss both the research & development of our most important image processing software and the business steps required to bring it (successfully) to the market.
